Sickness Hits The Sanford House...

In one of the blogs I read, every Tuesday she does "Ten on Tuesday", where she just lists 10 things that are on her mind that day, and I really like the format so I'm blatantly ripping it off (without the structure of a numbered list) because I enjoy the idea of blogging every day but it's sometimes actually trying to compose something takes me forever and this seems much easier.

Aurora has her first cold.  She's all sniffly, congested, and she keeps waking herself up coughing.  Needless to say, I didn't get much sleep last night.  I will be digging out the humidifer for her room tonight.

Diaper changes are now taking twice as long to complete, due to Aurora's newfound penchant for scrunching.

Aurora has now begun to roll over readily, both from back-to-tummy, and tummy-to-back.  Still not crawling, because whenever she's on her tummy she arches her back and flails.

I've begun feeding Aurora solids (well, as solid as baby cereal and smooshed veggies are), because she's started refusing formula.  The good news about it is that it is starting to bring her weight up.

For Christmas, I got Scott Eddie Izzard tickets, and the show was this past Saturday.  It was a great show, but I always forget how difficult it is to do anything in Downtown LA...we got to the theater an hour and a half early, but still couldn't get dinner until after the show because of how long the lines were for every restaurant in the plaza.

Yesterday was technically our second anniversary, but we've decided that we're going to celebrate Feb. 28th as our anniversary every year.  Still, we've been married for 2 years.  It's hard to believe it's been that long, but it's been an incredible 2 years.

Aurora's waking up now, and will want to be fed, so I will end it with just 6 :)

I'm Feelin' Crafty

I found a really cute craft in one of my magazines, and thought I'd share it, since so many of my friends have kids and/or cats.

Materials:

1 baby sock
Pinch of catnip
Felt
Fine-tip permanent marker
Handfull of fiberfill (pillow stuffing)
Small length of yarn
Nontoxic glue

Instructions:
Put a small amount of catnip in the baby sock.  Stuff in the fiberfill so that it's very full, and add some more catnip.  Tie the end closed with the yarn.  Glue small circles of felt to the socks as ears, and draw on eyes, a nose, and whiskers, so that it looks like a mouse.

Now I know what I'm going to be doing with all the mismatched baby socks I seem to have lying around lately ;)
